Your stay at Whispering Palms starts when you’re greeted at the airport by resort staff. After whisking you to the private island on which the resort is located, they’ll leave you to discover the villa’s private infinity pool and terrace with chaise longues for sunbathing and shaded al-fresco dining area. Drive the complimentary golf cart around the resort to explore the beaches, pools and fitness and tennis facilities, or borrow a bicycle to pedal from the croquet lawn to the putting green. Meals and beverages are included in your stay, as is access to a kids’ program.

The spacious interiors of Whispering Palms are a comfortable blend of traditional Caribbean charm and streamlined modern style. In the great room, fresh white vaulted ceilings and walls create an open, airy atmosphere that’s matched by wicker sofas and chairs with botanical-print or white upholstery and colorful artwork. Although meals at the resort are included in your stay, the villa has a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, a formal dining area and banquette seating for casual meals.

Each of the villa’s four bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom, flat-screen TV and air conditioning. There are two bedrooms with king beds, including the master suite, which also has its own dressing area and opens to a terrace. The other two bedrooms have two queen beds and two twin beds, respectively.

Though you can see the ocean from several rooms in the villa and the private terrace, you can actually walk to the beach in about 1 minute. Jumby Bay Beach and Pasture Bay Beach are also within easy reach, just over a half-mile away, as is the Hawksbill Turtle Project. To leave the private island where Jumby Bay Resort is located, make the 9-minute walk to the ferry and the 7-minute ferry ride to Antigua. From the ferry dock on Antigua, it’s a 5-minute drive to the island’s V.C. Bird International Airport.

Additional rules

• All credit card holders must be aged 25 years and older at check-in.
• Guests arriving into V. C. Bird International Airport in Antigua can connect to Jumby Bay Island with the Jumby Bay resort ferry. A mandatory $85.00 per adult transfer fee includes a welcome at Antigua’s airport and escort by private car or van to the resort’s private ferry for journey to Jumby Bay. The transfer fee also includes return transfers to Antigua’s airport upon departure. Transfers are $40.00 + applicable taxes round-trip for children ages 2-12 years old and are complimentary for children under 2 years of age.
• Airport transfer fees for Guests arriving via private plane are available upon request. The current fee for Guests arriving via private plane is $150.00 + applicable taxes. This fee is a flat rate charged by the government, and is additional to the transfer fee charged by Jumby Bay.
